Cupcakes

I went crazy with cupcakes today. I am testing a white cake recipe for a cake I'm doing in July. This cake was okay, but I think it's better as a cupcake rather than a cake. I made a butter cream frosting and added chocolate for chocolate cupcakes. I filled some of the cupcakes with a strawberry preserve that is homemade.

I am also trying to get my name out there as a baker so I thought what better way than to showcase with cupcakes. So these cupcakes are going to my work, Aaron's work and a few friends.

  1. Did they like them? I would, they look so yummy! We have cute cupcake stores here like, Dippity-Do, and they get $4.00-$5.00 for a cupcake! Your's probably even tastes better. I got one for my birthday from a friend. It was strawberry, Yum! I talked to Kellen Jones at church today and we were talking about Pancakes on the Rocks! He was drooling, so we'll have to invite him one night when your here to make our own "pancakes on the Rocks," experience! Love ya!

  3. You should put up a website where we can order these! I have sent them to friends as housewarming presents and 'thinking of you' gifts to my parents. I am so impressed.

  5. Hi Teana! Grace here, CHuck's wife =). I didn't know you were into baking and cake decorating.. My mother is also into this and I kinda got that similar fondness in cakes and baking/cooking other sweet stuff from her. I've read your blog and saw the pictures! They all look so good. You've done a pretty good job. Although I can't make really good cakes here in Antequera because we don't have a kitchenaid..hehehe but back home in Cebu, we have one and me and my sister used to experiment on stuff when I was still there..we would bake something we have seen on TV or follow recipes posted in the newspaper or magazines..hehehe I think your cakes are good, it looks like they're from a bakery.. Good job! So, you've been taking classes at Wilton? My mother used to have a Cake decorating book by Wilton and I really love the designs and decorations they do on their cakes... Good job, Teana! I love the cakes you posted, especially the cupcakes... I wish I can make those kind of pretty cakes too.. =)
